A wide variety of strucures have been designed by the practice. Reinforced concrete structures for both building and civil enginering works include all the tanks, pumping stations, screens etc for Cambridge Sewage Treatment Works, Newham P. S. in Truro, earthquate resistant structures in Cyprus, sewage treatment works in Oman and numerous r.c. foundations.

Bridges have been designed in reinforced concrete and steel; housing developments in timber, concrete and brickwork; commercial buildings in steelwork, plain, reinforced and prestressed masonry; trusses, glulam and ply web beams in timber. Some work has also been carried out in glass fibre for the structural design of components and their fixings.

A number of aluminium structures have been designed, including a modular access bridge, a parachute tower and various marquee type structures. These were analysed using in-house developed dynamic relaxation software which take into account second order effects.

Preliminary design work has been carried out on lightweight structures for the Cascades Scheme at Ventnor and the proposed canopy at Merlin Quay.

We carry an extensive range of software, including Larsa, a very powerful finite element package, capable of form finding for lightweight membranes, as well as large displacement, dynamic and non linear analysis of virtually any structure. Another is Multiframe, a powerful skeletal design package capable of analysing for earthquake effects. We have several in house programs, these, allied to our experience of design in most materials, allow us to offer a service, designing almost any structure.

Many schemes have been carried out that involve the repair or upgrading of historical buildings in a manner sympathetic to their original design.
